Italian Bronze and Gold Master Sculptor from Venice

Fast Tube by Casper

Gianfranco Meggiato’s works seen here at the 2012 NY Art Expo

Never before seen, original, introspective, instructive sculptures created by Italian metal master Gianfranco Meggiato.  From the heart of Venice, his artwork is breathtaking because of the deep level of communication and recognition experienced by the viewer.  Each piece is interactive, not only because of the movement and initial kinetic energy required.  The true interaction is once the viewer experiences the piece by touching it, moving it, and finally seeing themselves in the moving artwork itself.  Each reflection and experience is personal and unique.  The lessons of self exploration are keenly inherent with the artistic design defined my the master.  Engage the art first hand at Manhattan Art Auctions.

For more information:

Artist Statement, Artist Bio, Artist Publications and more, please visit Gianfranco Meggiato’s page here at Manhattan Art Auctions.  For a list of original works of art for auction houses, collectors, gallery owners and art lovers, please contact us directly here.  An approved representative will respond quickly with a private list of artwork and prices.  Each piece is priced equally world wide and every work of art is an original.  The pieces are each an original creation by the artist.  Gianfranco Meggiato’s works will be on display at auction houses and galleries in New York City during the summer and fall of 2012.

The Armory Show and NY Art Expo 2012

Presented by:

Manhattan Art Auctions

Bring your camera and dial in your watch!

This Weekend you can set your clocks forward as we spring ahead into a face full of painted canvas.  New York City’s Art Week is recognized by some to be the best art event in the world.  Of course Art Basil in Florida has been steadily gaining momentum and reputation in recent years.  However, Overall, New York City is still the international undisputed art capital of the free world.  I know, Paris, Rome, Sydney, Prague, London and Amsterdam, fans might actually dispute. Fact: New York has more auction houses than any other city, and acts as a crossroad for the world, New York can and will sell more art than any other city in the world.  Possibly over a billion dollars will exchange hands in over a two week period, just for wholesale, original and unbelievably rare artwork.  Purchase your art for fair established market value or lower by attending a live art auction in New York City or in the least, visit events like the Armory Show and NY Art Expo 2012.

Manhattan produces the Armory Show every year at the end of winter and hundreds of galleries (Mainly in West and Lower West Manhattan) piggy back off of the press and schedule seminars, exhibitions, guest speakers, performers, live art, and wine tastings almost non stop for two weeks.  Admission does cost the Public anywhere from nothing to a suggested $100 donation for VIP.  Some events do have a hard ticket price but the majority are less than $50.00 depending who you know and what really want you do.

New Visitors interested in free tickets to any events during art week can register and apply for your free pass.

We support artists, gallery owners, collectors and art lovers. in You must register with Manhattan Art Auctions to receive your entry badge.

FUNDRAISER AUCTION

Supporting the

10TH ANNUAL CONGRESS:

The History of Cuban Baseball

To be held: July 9th at Fordham University

UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY FOR INTERIOR DESIGNERS

Magnificent art pieces offered at well below their value

New York, NY – May 25th, 2011 – Carmen Herrera, whom The New York Times has referred to as “a nonagenarian homebound painter with arthritis, [who] is hot,” and whose work is in the world’s most prestigious museums, such as the MOMA, is one of the Cuban artists who, at 7:30 pm on June 3rd, will be part of the auction organized by the Cuban Cultural Center of NY (CCCNY) and Manhattan Art Auctions.

Besides Carmen Herrera’s oeuvre, the auction will include approximately 25 paintings and photographs by renowned and highly coveted Cuban artists, as well as from new emerging painters whose art is just starting to be recognized. The eclectic selection brings together artists with different characteristics and from different generations, including Gustavo Acosta, José Acosta, Susan Bank, Guido Betancourt, Humberto Calzada, Chary Castro-Marín, Luis Cruz Azaceta, Enrique Cubillas, Arturo Cuenca, Liliam Cuenca, Ofill Echevarría, Nelson Franco, Florencio Gelabert, David Martínez, Manuel Pardo, Jesús Rivera, Baruj Salinas, Leandro Soto, Mario Torroella, Gladys Triana, and Raúl Villarreal.

The auction will take place on Friday June 3rd at 7:30 pm at the The Spanish Benevolent Society (239 West 14th Street, NYC), an emblematic historical institution founded in 1868. As Manuel Castedo, president of the CCCNY, states, “this is a unique opportunity for all art collectors. Since this event is organized as a fund raiser,* the starting bids will be well below the value of these pieces. Moreover, the $50 entrance fee is tax-deductible and will be applied to any art purchase.”

All attendees will enjoy a rich selection of tapas prepared by international chef Lupe Torres, from the Spanish restaurant La Nacional, as well as the right to participate in special raffles. Given the limited space and the anticipated response to this event, we suggest that interested art collectors buy their tickets early at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/175118. For further information, please write to cccofny@aol.com.

*All proceeds will be donated to the fund in benefit of the CCCNY’s X Annual Congress:

Friday, May 20th, 2011, from 6-10pm art exhibit and live music by Acoustic Graffiti and Street Wise Soul.  The Exhibition is hosted by Steve and Tatiana Cornell and is Curated by Frank Gerard Godlewski.  There will be a Live Benefit Art Auction for Housing Works provided by The Manhattan Auction House and Foundation Auctions.

We realize Graffiti by nature is a controversial art form.  Many individuals see Graffiti in general as vandalism because of their social background and the influx of various personalities and criminal elements.  The Graffiti Kings showing at Gallery 69 have been creating tag for over 30 years and are now giving back to the homeless communities of New York.  We do not endorse vandalism, rather, we support artistic creation for art’s sake in accordance with the law.  That being said, enjoy the art in your life!  If you are curious about NY Graffiti Art and would like to support Housing Works, a non profit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to providing housing, education, employment and medical care for the homeless, please visit Gallery 69 in Tribeca and make your donation or purchase.  100% of all Auction Sales go to needy non profit efforts in New York City.

Photographers and painters in New York City raise funds for leukemia patients in need

NEW YORK CITY (April 27, 2011) – The Leukemia Needs Foundation (LNF) will auction off a mix of fine art photography and paintings at Art for the Cause, May 5, including works by talented artists Guy Philoche, Arthur Belebeau, Bill Diodato, William Coupon, Timothy Hogan and others. LNF, along with the participation of Be The Match Foundation, will host the event to raise funds to help pay the everyday bills of leukemia patients in need undergoing treatment at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

LNF co-founder and fashion photographer James Weber is among the artists donating their work and was inspired to start the organization after his own brush with the deadly disease.

“Being diagnosed with leukemia not only knocked me off my feet physically, but financially as well,” says Weber. “I was fortunate enough to have health insurance cover most of my medical bills, but since I was unable to work for more than 45 days, the bills for everyday living expenses soon piled up.  It occurred to me that there must be thousands out there going through the same thing, but with a lot fewer resources.”

The resources Weber seeks to tap to help leukemia patients are those in the New York City world of art and photography in which he makes his living.  More than 30 talented, working artists each donated a signed print to be sold with all proceeds going to LNF.

One of the event’s featured artists, Guy Philoche, has sold some of his previous works to celebrities George Clooney and Uma Thurman. Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, Barclay Investments, Merrill Lynch and others have picked up Philoche’s paintings at Christie’s auctions making them part of their corporate collections.  His current work, “Untitled Series,” focuses on utilizing a simple yet strict structure to create a sense of balance and symmetry.  His artwork has been referred to as a “beautiful organization of chaos” — a parallel for the order that LNF hopes to bring to the chaotic interruption leukemia creates in the lives of those who contract and confront it.

“James is someone I respect as an artist and a human being,” Philoche says. “I’m not surprised by his inspired efforts to help those dealing with leukemia, and I’m honored he would ask me to join him in Art for the Cause.”

Art for the Cause takes place in Loft 33 located at 33 West 26th St, 4th Floor, New York, NY, from 6:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m..  For more information about the event, please visit: www.leukneeds.org.

About Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) was established in New York City in 1884 and is the world’s oldest and largest private institution dedicated to prevention, patient care, research, and education in cancer.  MSKCC’s physicians and scientists treat over 400 subtypes of cancer and have established standards of care and treatment protocols for each type and stage of disease. Each year, Memorial Sloan-Kettering treats more children with cancer, treats more people with breast cancer, and performs more cancer surgeries than any other hospital in the United States.  In 2010, more than 24,000 patients were admitted to Memorial Hospital and MSKCC accommodated 500,000 outpatient visits.  MSKCC is one of 40 National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in the United States.  For more information, please visit www.mskcc.org.

About The Leukemia Needs Foundation

The Leukemia Needs Foundation (LNF) is a not-for-profit organization created to financially assist leukemia patients while acutely hospitalized.  While many organizations focus on medical bills, LNF focuses on paying everyday living expenses that stack up while a patient isn’t able to work.  LNF was created by James Weber and Dr. Patrick Fullerton with the focus of benefitting patients of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.  Its stated goal is to raise funds sufficient to expand to hospitals around the country.
